Chris Brown says “I can be certain this won’t happen again…”, and it sounds as though the punishment has had a positive effect on him. Good for you, Chris!

Looks like Chrihannagate is finally over.

According to TMZ: “Chris Brown has copped a plea in his assault case. He won’t do jail time, but he will spend 6 months doing things like road cleanup. He’s also been ordered to stay 50 yards clear of Rihanna.

He’ll spend 180 days doing community labor (8 hours a day — 1440 hours total) — which is, in effect, hard labor. He’ll do his service in Virginia which is where Brown lives. A Virginia law enforcement officer told us Brown will be picking up trash, pulling weeds and washing fire trucks.

He gets 5 years probation for FELONY assault — he pled guilty. He’ll get supervised probation. He’ll have to come back to court every three months. He must enroll in a domestic violence counseling. ”

Wow! That’s some serious punishment.

*UPDATE* from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Atlanta-based pop star Usher and his wife, Tameka Foster, have not filed for divorce.
The celebrity magazine In Touch, quoting anonymous sources, announced that Usher and his wife had filed divorce papers in Fulton Superior Court Thursday morning, prompting a flood of media inquiries to the clerk’s office.
No such filing was found in a check of court records, however.

According to InTouch – Usher has filed for divorce from his wife of two years (and the mother of his two sons) Tameka Foster-Raymond. From InTouch:

“The Grammy winner has been living apart from his wife for nearly a year after almost two years of marriage,” an insider exclusively tells In Touch, adding, “Usher’s primary concern is for his children. He is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them.”

The soon-to-be exes have two kids together, Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months.

And the insider says that it’s more than just talk — the divorce papers were filed in Atlanta this morning. The couple has faced problems in the past. In November 2008, In Touch reported that Usher was flirting with girls at a party in Miami, and even asked a model what she was doing afterward. And in February, In Touch revealed that although Usher flew to Tameka’s side after she suffered cardiac arrest from cosmetic surgery in Brazil, he “had no idea that she was there to have surgery.”

It’s kinda sad that some folks have been looking forward to the end of this marriage before it even began. I personally just don’t get it…

Some new pics from Rihanna and Breezy’s puppy-lovin’ days surfaced on the internet this past week – right along with the news that Rihanna will be required to attend Chris’ next hearing on June 22nd,  and CB’s ”I ain’t a monster” video.

I’m sure the timing is just coincidental…

As expected, Chris Brown entered a ‘not guilty’ plea in Los Angeles court in response to charges he turned Rihanna from a lovely young lady into a battered – and – bruised Andy Warhol poster child. The actual charges are assault and making criminal threats, the battered – and – bruised part were just extra. And you know the lawyers are  working on a plea agreement as we speak…

Chris’ next scheduled court date is April 29th.

Outkast’s Andre 3000 (Andre Benjamin) was arrested this weeend in Georgia for speeding. The A-town rapper was clocked doing 109mph in a 65mph zone. He posted $1200.00 bail, was released, and is due in court on April 29th.

I Was checking out the latest gossip on SandraRose.com, and came across this surprising news. Looks like gospel music’s favorite son, native Detroiter BeBe Winans, has been arrested for domestic assault. From SandraRose:

Gospel singer BeBe Winans was booked yesterday on a domestic assault rap for allegedly pushing his ex-wife to the ground during an argument last month. According to a court filing, a copy of which you’ll find below, Winans, 46, and his former spouse got into a “verbal altercation” on February 13 about “custody issues dealing with their children.” At the time, Winans was at his ex-wife Debra’s Nashville home, where he had driven to pick up his children. “The victim was telling the defendant of issues with the children when he became irate. The defendant then pushed the victim to the ground.” Winans, pictured in the mug shot at right, was arrested yesterday on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge. He was briefly held at the Davidson County jail before posting $1000 bond. Winans, best known for albums recorded with his sister CeCe, has won four Grammy awards.

Jay Z has this to say regarding the Chris Brown\Rihanna situation:

“This is a real situation,” he said in Phoenix at the Sprite Green presents the Third Annual Two Kings dinner with Jay-Z and Lebron James, as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend.

“You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that,” the hip-hop mogul, 39, continued.

“I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”

Jason Momoa – the hunk “Ronon” from Stargate:Atlantis (and Lisa Bonet’s baby daddy) was injured in a “cafe fight” in West Hollywood, following a “verbal altercation”.
Cutie  Momoa received 140 stitches after Dominc Bando hit him in the face with a pint glass. Momoa required reconstructive surgery to repair the damage to his face. [source]

Question 1: when they say “cafe” – are they talking something like Starbucks? Who gets into a fight at a cafe? Surely there was alcohol involved…
