AKOO’s Billboard…UPDATED

So, T.I.’s been out of jail – what – two days? And already this AKOO billboard has got the whole City of New Jersey mad at him. The billboard shows a man in unbuckled jeans – AKOO, I’m sure –  with a woman on her knees pulling his pants down. Judging by the velvet rope, they’re probably somewhere in public. Is she preparing to service him so she can get into the club? Nah. Who does that…

Is it suggestive – yeah. Would a little kid get it? Possibly. Did I get it? Honestly, no. I’ve seen this pic on multiple websites today, and I had to read the comments section in order to understand it was depicting an ‘oral precursor’. I guess I’m a little slow.

*UPDATE* – AKOO has issued this statement via Trapmuzik.com:

Statement From Akoo.

“THE AKOO brand has always aimed to inspire individualism and creativity. Our advertising campaign was not created to offend or insult anyone but to simply provoke dialogue and thought regarding male/female sexuality within urban culture. We hope that as more of the campaign is debuted, people will see the multifaceted personality of AKOO”

Chris Brown covers “Graffiti”

Looks like Chris Breezy followed my advice for his new “Graffiti” album cover. The cover art for the upcoming album shows Chris Brown dressed all in fitted black, and getting his ‘rock ‘n roll on with a guitar slung over his shoulder. Like a young, tame, well-groomed Jimi Hendrix…

In the meantime, Rihanna spoke with GLAMOUR Magazine regarding Chrihannagate:

Glamour: Let’s talk about this past year—you’ve obviously been through some difficult things. How did the people around you help you cope?
Rihanna: My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.
Glamour: Are you referring to the [Chris Brown] incident?
Rihanna: I am talking about starting with the night [before] the Grammys and then on. That was not the only thing that occurred this year. The picture leaking…it was one thing after another.
Glamour: You’re talking about the photo [reportedly of Rihanna’s injured face taken by police after Brown assaulted her] that was allegedly leaked by cops. You handled that so well; you kept silent in the press.
Rihanna: It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.

Gabrielle Union does MEN’S HEALTH Magazine

Actress Gabriell Union goes nude for Men’s Health Magazine, and is quoted in an article titled “What She’s Saying About You”.

Memorable quote: Control
Gabrielle: “If both people can climax quickly, sex doesn’t need to go on for 2 hours — at some point, Law & Order is coming on! But it’s terrible if a man is 2 minutes and you’re nowhere close.”

Gabby, girl – women all over the world co-sign that! You can read the article here.

Detroit covers TIME Magazine…

Detroit, in all her splendor, makes the cover of TIME Magazine. Then there’s this.

*SIGH* If the auto plants were hiring today, and the police locked up all the drug dealers/users - who would change the mindset of the people whose lifestyle negatively impacts their neighbors quality of life?

It’s not the city that’s the problem.

Amber Rose takes it off for COMPLEX…

Kanye West’s boo – Amber Rose – goes nekkid for COMPLEX Magazine, and had this to say about her sexuality:

Complex: There’s constant chatter on the blogs about your sexual preference. Are you bisexual?

Amber Rose: Yeah, they label me a bisexual freak stripper that f–ks Kanye on a daily basis. [Laughs.] You know: “Amber Rose, the f–king bisexual, dyke, freak, whatever the f–k.” To answer that: I’m extremely open with my sexuality. I can be in love with a woman, I can be in love with a man. I’m not into bestiality [laughs] but as far as humans go, I definitely find beauty in everybody, whether they’re heavy-set, super-skinny, if they’re white, black, Indian, Asian, Spanish. I can see beauty in anybody. I’m not into threesomes or orgies and s–t like that. If I see a women and I think she’s beautiful and I like her, and she likes me back we can definitely try to be in a relationship together.

Now, y’all will just have to forgive me ‘cuz I’m old school, but there’s only so much information I need to know. Amber Rose is a beautiful girl, but I  think she works the freak angle a little too hard. What happened to being a lady?

Just my opinion…

Nia Long covers PRIDE Magazine

Nia Long is always gorgeous! And if she was talking about Beyonce in the quote from her interview below – don’t we agree? Beyonce is a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice, but she isn’t an actresss.

And that’s not hate – just an honest opinion. I felt the same way about Diana Ross until she played the hell out of the Billie Holliday role in ”Lady Sings the Blues”.

From S2S Magazine: “Nia was asked (in her PRIDE mag interview) what she thought about Obsessed, starring Beyoncé and Idris Elba, but she declined to comment because she hadn’t seen the movie. Although she did say that she feels casting has become has become more a question of prospective audience size as opposed to ability.

“It’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate,’” she commented.  “When you see certain people—we won’t name names—they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes.’”
