Solange Knowles has been dropped by her label. According to sources – Geffen/Interscope chose not to further it’s relationship with Solange because of low sales of her debut album “Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams”.

“Geffen did a one-off deal with Music World Entertainment for Solange and wasn’t interested in doing a new contract with her. People at the label really liked working with her because other than her infamous news outburst in Las Vegas, she was a constant professional. There were challenges dealing with her camp, but Solange was great to work with. In the end, the CD didn’t sell despite Solange’s countless high profile appearances,”

I’m thinking that if chicks like Rihanna, Ciara, and Cassie all have deals – Solange will be just fine since she can actually write and sing.

Wow! Sam just posted that Kelly Rowland has been dropped from Columbia Records because she is “no longer commercially viable”, despite having had 4 million dollars in record sales. I like Kelly. I hope she rebounds.

…especially Solange. Check out Solange (and her fly-a$$, open-toed booties) on the red carpet at Karu & Y, where she hosted the New Year’s Eve event with Jamie Foxx. She could send me those shoes. Seriously.

Ask, and you shall receive! Just yesterday I said I’d like to see Beyonce’s real personality, and then she pops up on Oprah being her own damn fabulous self. Gotta give Beyonce her props on this one – she’s really having fun. Girlfriend even admits to bringing Sasha Fierce home to Jay Z every now and then. I still don’t think Sasha is all that, but Miss Beyonce is kinda fierce…

Sorry, y’all – I just don’t think Sasha (or Beyonce) is all that damn fierce. Maybe it’s just me, but fierce implies an attitude or look that will make people take notice. Sasha Fierce ain’t it.

Like her alter ego Beyonce, Sasha Fierce has no personality or individuality. Say what you will about Solange – she IS an individual. The music. The outfits. The interviews. The shoe game – all vicious. Beyonce is pretty – gorgeous, really. And very talented. But there’s nothing personal about her image. It all seems manufactured. Kinda Diana Ross 2k.

While the alter ego thing may be real- (I kinda like the whole T.I. vs T.I.P. thing, but not so much Tyrese\Black Ty) – I’m just not getting the sense that Sasha is Beyonce’s other side. I’d very much like to see just a little bit of Bey’s REAL personality.
