So, T.I.’s been out of jail – what – two days? And already this AKOO billboard has got the whole City of New Jersey mad at him. The billboard shows a man in unbuckled jeans – AKOO, I’m sure – with a woman on her knees pulling his pants down. Judging by the velvet rope, they’re probably somewhere in public. Is she preparing to service him so she can get into the club? Nah. Who does that…
Is it suggestive – yeah. Would a little kid get it? Possibly. Did I get it? Honestly, no. I’ve seen this pic on multiple websites today, and I had to read the comments section in order to understand it was depicting an ‘oral precursor’. I guess I’m a little slow.
*UPDATE* – AKOO has issued this statement via Trapmuzik.com:
Statement From Akoo.
“THE AKOO brand has always aimed to inspire individualism and creativity. Our advertising campaign was not created to offend or insult anyone but to simply provoke dialogue and thought regarding male/female sexuality within urban culture. We hope that as more of the campaign is debuted, people will see the multifaceted personality of AKOO”Posted by Busy on March 1, 2010 at 9:00pm

Bless Up Empress Kim!…
Give Infinite Thanks for posting this statement. I was highly appalled by this particular billboard [on Washington St. in Newark, NJ] which consciously and subconsciously promotes the despicable notion that an entire people of the African Diaspora are nothing more than weak spirited, simple minded animals who are mastered and oppressed by deviant sexual vices.
I’ve lived in Brick City for 28 years, moved about and returned as of this past Fall 09 and I have to express that things have digressed quite a lot. I am here “divinely” to infuse the light of the Almighty and coerce a shift of progressive positivity so that we may rise beyond the tradition of our divinity and royalty.
