Good for you, Chris!
It’s obvious that he’s reading from a prepared statement, but that’s ok. It takes a real man to stand (sit) in front of the public eye and admit his mistakes – so many men won’t admit their mistakes in private. Chris just grew up in my eyes.

Chris Brown apologizes…
You’re right, Keith – it’s not just the brothers.
But young brothers in the spotlight are much more likely to want to be perceived as ‘hard’, rather than human.
This is why I applaud Chris. It’s difficult to admit you were wrong because there’s always the possibility your apology won’t be accepted, or that it may harm your ‘image’. A real man (or woman) won’t care about that. They’d apologize because it’s the right thing to do. So props to Chris, and I believe him, too.
Wow…
I gotta admit that really was pretty good. Usually, like you say, brothers don’t even wanna apologize. And it’s not just brothers, actually, so let me cut that right there. But when u do see an apology is usually so well-rehearsed and scripted that it’s worthless and obviously done for PR. Maybe Chris is a really good actor, but for now I’m willing to give the brother the benefit of the doubt because it does sound like he really means what he’s saying.
