Greg Finley has been sentenced to serve 2 to 30 years in prison for casuing the death of a Riverview man by selling him Fentanyl-laced Heroin.

From The Detroit Free Press:

Billy Joe Towle Jr., 27, died in September 2006 in his family’s River Rouge home after injecting himself with fentanyl-laced heroin he’d bought from Finley.
“My son paid the ultimate price for a wrong choice,” the victim’s father, Bill Towle, told the court. “Now, it’s Mr. Finley’s turn to pay for multiple wrong choices.”

2006 was the year many people (mostly from the suburbs) – were killed by the deadly heroin\fentanyl mixture. The outcry from the community led to the police tracking the substance down to Greg Finley, a drug dealer who was selling drugs out of a home in Detroit.

Now, I have no issues with drug dealers going to jail – but I have to ask -was young Mr. Towle unaware that heroin use could kill you? Do the police NOT see all the boys in white tees on every other block in the D (a slight exaggeration) – selling crack to Detroiters? – why don’t they arrest them. Why is the life of young Mr. Towles more important than that of cracked-out Junebug from down the block?

I don’t understand this one.
