This post is for the boyfriend – aka Plan B – and all the other good single fathers out there.

Plan B has been a single father for as long as I’ve known him, and while he is not a perfect man – he is a good man. And a good dad. His kids call him for everything. From  ‘Dad, I have car trouble’, to ‘Dad – I need advice’, and from the little ones – ‘ Dad – I need’! And one of the many reasons I love him is that he always come through for them. Even when he doesn’t feel like being dad – he is Dad.

I think that’s what makes a man a dad – loving your kids through your actions. At the end of the day – if they know nothing else - Plan B’s kids will always know one thing: Daddy loved me.  Contrary to popular belief – Plan B is NOT the only good, single, Black dad out there. **Shouts out to T.I.**

Regardless of their relationship with the child’s mother, there are so many Black men who play a positive, active role in the lives of their children. You see them in playgrounds, grocery stores, barber shops, the car wash, or just walking their kids to school. These men are living, breathing proof that not all of our men are triflin’-ass babydaddies who ut their feelings first. **gives  Fiddy the side-eye for evicting Shaniqua, and lil’ 25 Cent[1] ** (no disrespect – I just don’t know the little guy’s name), as the media would have us believe. These guys deserve some recognition for all that they do.

So, to all the good babydaddies out there – Sunday is your day, and all of us[2] baby mama’s salute you!

[1] Yeah - I'm beefin' wit Fiddy. No apologies.
[2] Yep - I'm a single mother of a grown man, and darned proud of it!
Got somethin' to say?
